t60 panel manufacturer

Just got a new t60. 2007-c4u (2Ghz core duo, x1300, 14.1" SXGA+)
My screen leaks quite a bit of light at the bottom. How can I find out who manufactured my panel?

do a parts lookup here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... sLookup.vm

then copy the part no. of the panel and paste it into a search box at ibm.com. you'll see a link which will take you to the parts listing.

Looks like it's a TMD... I only see the light leakage at certain angles... The viewing angles are generally poor actually, which was indicated elsewhere in the forum for TMD panels... Maybe I will try to send it back for a unit with a different panel manufacturer...

my first T60 had a TMD while my current T60 has a Hydis panel which I far prefer.

I have a Core 2 Duo T60 on order but I'm not sure if I'll get a Hydis because that company is actually in bankruptcy.

Altough I have a Hydis panel, I still have a very uneven light distribution.

When I first got the machine it was perfect, no dead pixel, no light leakage, evenly lit. But after a couple of weeks the right side has become darker. So I'll have to let an IBM guy check it out, cuz this sux. So not even the Hydis panels are always perfect.
