Lost Control of Wireless Radio Through Fn-F5

First off, this is
different from the other cases where it disappears from Fn-F5 entirely or where you would get an error. I've already tried these instructions:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-64439 I didn't have any other libeay32.dll's in system folders, though, just other application folders, and yes I set it to search system and hidden files.
When I say I lost control, I mean that it's still there, but it shows up as Off even though it's clearly on (indicator light + I have a connection). When I try to turn all off, only Bluetooth and Wireless WAN Radio actually turn off. Are there any other solutions to this?

As an aside, does anyone else have Intel's
\Wireless\Bin in their PATH environment variable many, many times? I'm wondering if I can eliminate all the repetitions of it. Would someone else check their PATH variable and either paste it here or tell me if their \Wireless\Bin was in there multiple times or just once.

Good that you had fixed it. I once had THAT problem. Reinstalling Think Access and wireless driverrs/hotkey worked.
With regard to Intel path you mentioned. YES, I had multiple copy of it. Removing the duplicates are OKAY. Moving it to the front of the path list worked for me too.

How did you fix the problem? After applying applying the recent update, I've lost control of the card too. At first the card would not show in the Access Connections. Replacing the libeay32.dll solved that problem. But now I cannot turn it on.
What did you do to solve this?

Uninstall both the network card driver and Access Connections. Reboot. Reinstall the network card driver and reboot again. Then reinstall Access Connections and reboot a final time. It should work after that. I don't know if you have to reboot between the network driver and Access Connections, but I did.

Thanks for the fix, but could you walk me thru it, not that computer savvy!! (By the way, my problem is the same, wireless light is on, but Fn 5 says it's off and I can't toggle it off)
I can uninstall the Access Connections via Add/Remove from control panel, but where do I find the Network Card Driver to remove it?
Then where do I find/get the Access Connections & Network Card Driver to reinstall. Do I have to download new ones from the internet?
I'm sure it's easy, but I need some help to do it.

OK, I figured it out, deleted Access Connections and Wireless Lan via Software Installer and reinstalled them together, rebooted and it worked.
Learning by doing!

I was able to fix the problem without uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers. Instead I used the drivers "repair" option and then reboot.
Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs->Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Software->Change/Remove->Repair

I had access connections unable to determine the state of the wireless. It hit me after I'd used the software updater to bring this new machine up to latest spec.
I tried the uninstall, install routine a few times, varying the order in which I installed stuff and rebooting between each but nothing worked. Then I came here for help. Thanks Peoples.
The control panel >> Intel program and <repair> worked first time.
