Palmrest flex in new T60

Does anyone see some flex in the palmrest area - near the security chip, esp. near the right edge of the laptop? I don't rest my palms on the palmrest while I type, but my friend does and I was very surprised to hear sqeaky sounds from this area when my friends used the laptop yesterday. (I have been extremely careful about the laptop and have not abused it in any way.)

Also, whenever I close the laptop lid, I hear a (kind of) cracking sound - the lid is stiff obviously, but the laptop is almost 2 months old. I also see some flex in the area above the DVD-RAM drive.

Should I contact lenovo support or is there anything I can do for this? Any help is greatly aprpeciated.

I have no flex in that area, there is negligable flex on the lower left hand side by the stickers.

Only 15 inch T60 has this.

Any suggestion for us? Do you think contacting lenovo would be a good idea?

Its normal because the palm rest is big and removable

First thing when I got my T60p...called Lenovo about it!

Loved everything about the laptop but the stupid squeaky palm rest on the right side. My 600X had a rock solid palm rest. They overnighted me a new one, and...alas, the squeak persists, although a little less now.

I don't know just HOW squeaky yours is. Squeak upon closing sounds bad, mine doesn't have that. Call 'em up

Replace it or not the squeak is not going away! we have over
30 15 inch T60's in my company and they all squeak!!!
I've read somewhere here that you can put rubber
Or something beneath it and the (squeak) will disappeare.

That is bad news. I am actually having a onsite repair technician come over next week - I'll ask him if this is a widespread support issue.

I got the palmrest replaced today - the flex is gone completely. The service technician told that atleast he has not went for any service requests of this sort.

I should tell that he was great in handling my preciousssss

He finished the job in like 10 minutes flat!

As a bonus, the new palmrest does not have the ugly stickers - my TP totally rocks now.
