T60p Price Drop - now from $1684
T60p Price Drop - now from $1684
Looks like Lenovo dropped the prices on the T60p's - now from $1684.
With the deals now, $1800 will get you a T60p with C2D 2.16, 1GB, 100GB, 14" SXGA+, 256MB FireGL, DVD-RW, and the 9 cell battery.
Looks like a good deal, I might have sprung for one if I didnt buy my X60s just a few months ago. As much as I love my X60s, I would much rather a C2D T60p for the same price ><.

Re: T60p Price Drop - now from $1684
The X60s and the T60p obviously serve very different purposes. If the X60s is your only computer, I strongly recommend you to get the T60p and use it as a desktop replacement. You will find that the extra pixels on the T60p display make it much easier to view web sites and to work with multiple documents/programs. Use the X60s only when you travel or when you need a second computer.RUSH2112 wrote:Looks like a good deal, I might have sprung for one if I didnt buy my X60s just a few months ago.

Yes, they are very different machines, but I would hapily use either one. The screen size / resolution is pretty easy to adjust to (though I would like having my hi res screen back). The keyboard is full sized. TO be honest, the only reason I didn't get a T60 is because I didnt want to have to carry around 2 batteries.
I do want to get an R60 for a home system/backup laptop, though
@intelbrain
No, not *much* cheaper, but a $250 price drop for a system with a better CPU is still notworthy. As for the screen, I much prefer the 14". It gets better battery life and makes the whole computer smaller/lighter. I suppose if you dont move the system around alot, it doesnt really matter, but I do.

I went from a T42 to a X60s because I like the much smaller size. At home and at work I have a 24" Dell LCD (1920 x 1200) for the extra screen real estate. These monitors can be had for less than $600 including taxes/shipping if you look around.
The X60(s) has 6-7 hour battery life with the 8-cell and is so portable and easy to carry around. People love it when I show it to them.
I'm going to move up to a C2D soon as more models come out with the 802.11n. When Vista comes out in January, I'll run 64-bit.
