When did the T60 base warranty go to 1 year?

The Lenovo site now says the "base warranty" for the T60 is 1 year. 3 years is an extra $149 (for depot repair).

When did that happen? For years the T-series base warranty was 3 years.

Were prices lowered proportionately?

Some years ago.
Some T's are one year, some are three.
Yes. As I see it, it was to compete with Dell and like who were all at one year.

Actually, there are difference "models" some of which have one year basic warranty ("Express" I think) and others with three year warranty. For instance, I have a 170263U which comes with the basic three year warranty. It all comes out the same....

They also downgraded their "30-day return policy" to only 21 days now, to "compete with other manufacturers."

Isn't "competing" offering the BETTER service, not downgrading?

Huh.

Also, a sales rep even mentioned that Lenovo/IBM *raised* the prices on RAM to 'compete' with other vendors, as opposed to keeping their prices.

I missed the 21-day return policy. Good to know. Thank you.

They're competing on price. You can still get the same service, but you have the option of less service at a lesser price.
