T60p and Violet UML software

I have gone through and done all the updates i can think of but i am still having issues with Violet (UML modeling software).
When I start a new Class diagram i have purple "blotches" instead of the necessary grid on the display. Also the software runs very slow and has issues with the different features, such as visualizing inheritance arrows as i am connecting classes......
Does anyone have a quick solution for this as it is something which is very critical.

I am not entirely sure it is a problem with the T60p itself; have you checked the Java JRE and does it run fine from the command line as "java -jar violet-0.15.jar" ?
Wouldn't it be great if IBM shipped Rational Rose Enterprise with some Thinkpads?

Yes, it executes and opens properly. I went through and updated my JRE as well and still no luck. It however is not running choppy anymore, but the grid is not showing up at all and graphically it is not correct. I suppose it will work since the class models are now showing up in a normal fashion.

Tomorrow, I can try running it on a T60p and see what happens. Although everything should be OK...I hope.

Hey. What were your results Chris? I updated drivers and JRE and still no luck. It is also not a corrupt file. This must be the video card.

It runs fine, apparently.
I tried it on fresh systems too so it might be that there is a sensitive setting that toggled to something different, different enough to bodge up Violet UML, on your system.
Have you updated everything incuding the graphics drivers?

This is what it looks like (Inheritance arrow included):
I tried zooming in using FN + Spacebar and i got a clear grid...and then when i zoomed out i still showed a clear grid...but it will not work from start. I am not really sure what is up with that. And yes i have the most current drivers for video card.

Ok. So get this...I just came up with the solution. For some reason I had my display set to only 16 bit color, at 32 bit color violet seems to work just fine. I tested it out with another system, but it seems to just be my computer. Must have something to do with the graphics card. This whole problem has thrown me through a loop.
