T60 Microphone/Line In Question

Could someone advise if the Microphone/Line In port on the T60 is indeed a stereo Line In?
I believe it's mono only - as per most PC Microphone inputs......

It is indeed a mono only input, but it does require a stereo input plug, the extra circuit is used to power the microphone I believe.

The connector has tip/ring/sleeve but the ring provides DC for the microphone. It would be nice if there was a way to reconfigure that but it doesn't look like there is provision for this. You can use a PC card (e.g. audigy) or one of several USB audio adapters to get a stereo line input. Do some research before you plunk down your $ though--it seems that some are much better than others, and price is not necessarily a sign of quality.
