Cannot install winxp pro from scratch

I bought a new 100G and installing winxp pro on it from scratch.
I had changed the HD to compatibility mode but I am getting the below error.


Error:

Installation Failed: D:\I386\asms. Error Message: Incorrect function.

Are you installing from a original WinXP Disk, or a backup? Does the disk works well on another machine

Problem fixed.
Indeed it is the disk itself.
Lucky that I have another disk on hand.
