T60P 2007-8JU for photo processing
Got mine Monday AM
That's the one with the 14 inch screen and T7600.
The default profile for the screen is horrible for photos.
So I calibrated the screen with SpyderOptical and it was great.
Not as good as the flexview screen.
If you have some test photos that you cause to get the
proper tilt of the screen you are OK.
Then I found that Lenova had included a sRGB profile
which worked equally well.
The Profile for the 21 inch ViewSonic VP211b also worked perfectly.
That just happens to be the Monitor that I'm using.
Using Nikon software and raw files is a breeze now.
I got rid of the fingerprint and security software as well as the Corporate
Norton AV.
Had no problem cloning or making partitions with Acronis.
Hard Disk Hitachi is quiet. No problem with heat
The Multi burner has a greatly improved method for holding the disk in place
without wobble.
Has an on board microphone which works quite well for Voice dictation.
I did get a dock and extra USB keyboard with the stick.
Gee with the Dock I've got seven USB slots.
Plus the two on the keyboard makes nine.
I don't think they all are full powered.
I had some problem setting up the network,
but that was my bad.
I also goofed I thought on making recovery disks.
So just to be sure I called IBM Monday afternoon to order.
They could not verify warranty or S/N on machine
it was so new.
They did call back and said they just got the info and would ship
them out.
They arrived Tuesday at 11 AM.
I had gotten a spare 100 gb 7200 rpm with the shipment.
It had the rubber bumpers already mounted.
The unit weighs 5.6 lbs with the nine cell battery.
The speakers are fine.
Yes I can open the top with one hand.
My unit was made Nov 6th shipped to me on the 10 th
and rested from the trip at UPS over the weekend.
The Battery was Sanyo and was full charged.
Yes I found the keyboard drain holes.
You may wonder why I got the T7600 processor, well if the camera
has a 12 mb sensor the 16 bit tiff file is about 70 mb by the time it gets to Photoshop where it may even get bigger.
Now not all of my files are that large.
Now if you want to know what hardware-- you need to tell me how to find it.

I got the 2007-7JU (15" flexview) and had the same experience with the screen profile. I made one using adobe gamma to hold me over until I get home where my eye-one display 2 is, but I'm curious, where did you find that rgb profile? I wonder if it's better than the one I made with adobe gamma.
T60 2007-7JU (15" Flexview, has a T60p mobo for the v5200, 4gb ram, changed HDD w/7200rpm 100gb, T7400 2.16ghz Core 2 Duo)

birger - after you removed the client security software, did you check to see if it's actually gone?
on my new T60, I ran the uninstall but cssauth is still running at startup and the entire Client Security folder is still there (inside the Lenovo folder).
I would love to know what panel you have:

Under " my Dociuments" there is a 100mb file Securedrive.vol biut it is now grayed out.
Would be nice to get rid of it..
Screen 14.1 Mfg P/N 13N7062
Keyboard P/N 39T0928
Does that help??? Tell me what I have. Not that it makes a difference.
The USB remote Keyboard with the pointing stick runs just fine.

You have the NMB keyboard which is regarded as the "best" IIRC. Personally, I see nothing lacking about my Chicony keyboard though. I don't know about the screen.bpetterson wrote:Under " my Dociuments" there is a 100mb file Securedrive.vol biut it is now grayed out.

you have the TMD panel, which has the best spec's in terms of contrast ratio and brightness. My first T60 had a TMD panel which I didn't care for, my second T60 had a Hydis panel which was great, and my third T60 has a Samsung panel which seems even better.bpetterson wrote: Screen 14.1 Mfg P/N 13N7062

HOWEVER, I've seen many bad Samsung panels so there is quite a bit of variation in quality among supposedly identical panels.
Is this file for color calibration or you must buy a hardware like spyoptical?bpetterson wrote:sRGB profile well it's an ICC file.
Windows- system 32- spool-drivers-color-sRGB color space profile.
Then go the deskspace- right click- properties-settings- advanced-
color management- add- and put it in. Then set as default.

To sum up the 20078JU T6007 14 inch screen for photo
processing so far is as follows.
Acronis disk image 9.0 for cloning was a snap set on automatic.
Aconis disk director 10.0 for partitioning was a snap.
No update needed.
So now I have two cloned 100 gb 7200 rpm hitachi hdd for my back ups.
The reason for two partitions.
Second partion has all of my data and photo files.
If the C partition dies, i can always recover my data and photo files.
If the HDD motor dies.
I can recover data and photo files from my USB desk drive.
I have a kept up to date[ well two weeks] clonned hdd to snap in.
The 14 inch screen for photo work stinks.
I can manage cause I have test photos, so I can tilt screen to get proper view.
For field work I can manage with it.
Using a ViewSonic VP211b at 1600 is perfect for a monitor.
The external ultranav with pointing stick USB keyboard attachment is fine.
Setting up a hard wired network was a beast until I checked the
"other] box.
As for wireless commication, I'm not there yet.
I do have eight other ThinkPads working wireless just fine, as well as hard wired.
All this security stuff may be just fine, or maybe that's why the State Dept will not buy Thinkpads.
One thing that I'm clueless about.
What is an express card????????
Is it like a cardbus card on the A31P ???
Also what is the front side bus speed????
I'm glad to see that they have included a keyboard microphone.
As for games. ????????????? the only one I play is Free Cell.
Voice Dictation works well once you get it set up properly.
Vista should be issued with MS Voice Dictation.
Would I buy another one ????
With a Flexview Screen yes.

Do you have Photoshop CS2 and if so want to do a test to see how much faster the T7600 is than T7400?
You say the 14" screen stinks for photo work, I'm just curious why you didn't get the 15" flexview?

It is so bloated.
The Flexview maker went belly up.
For photo processing, I use Nikon Capture and Nikon NX,
and maybe a bit in PS. Qimage for printing program.
Using Epson 4800 for printing.
What is an Express card???????

Who told you the flexview maker went belly up? The 15" UXGA flexview maker did, but the SXGA+ 15" flexviews are still being sold (I have on in fact).
Is the Express card you're referring to the PCI-Express card? That's the video card.
Well, if you ever get CS2 on the one with the T7600 in it let me know so I can have you run a test to compare how fast it is to my T7400 at photo processing.
