No problems here. T60p.
Edited to add that I also have a T60 with integrated graphics that's dead silent.

yea , all I hear is that T60 has this issue.
Does it mean T60p acutally has different architecture design from T60?

My fan seems to be off more now than it was originally, supposedly after the bios update to 2.01. When it is on, it is around 3050rpm but it is not noisy at all. I rarely notice it, but then I don't work in a dead quiet room either. It is noticeably quieter compared to my desktop.

My T60 has no fan noise...it seems off most of the time and when it kicks on I hardly notice it...just a quiet hum.

the problem with asking this kind of question is that "noise" can be subjective. while one person won't notice and be bothered by a noise, another person might hear the same noise and think it's super loud.
as for me, the fan noise from my T60 is not something that bothers me. most of the time, i can't even tell that it's going.

Another factor is if the fan shuts down sometimes or not. Don´t know if the T60 series heatsink does make contact with the Northbridge core (supossedly this chip caused overheating temps on T4x series laptops), some T43 were chipped with a modified long fan. Don't know if the T60 laptops dissipates the NB heat, which could trigger a sensor to activate the fan because the heat is not well disipated

Yes, but some T60s seem to be louder than others.
I have a new T60 with Core2Duo (2.0GHz) and X1400 - my roommate has an "old" T60 from a month ago with CoreDuo (2.16Ghz) and X1400.
Our temps are the same. My T60 is loud, his is silent. It is ether the BIOS or the heatsync/fan that is the problem. If you check, the CoreDuo TPs have 1.xx BIOSes and the C2D's have 2.XX BIOSes - which could account for the difference. But, the older T60s have a *different* FRU for their heatsync/fan than the new T60s do.
I just got the old heatsync in the main from Lenovo today and I'm going to try swapping it into my C2D T60 and see if it's any quieter.
I should note that my fan, set to level 1 in TP Fan Control, runs at ~3000RPM while my roommate's runs at 1900RPM. and as such is much quieter, almost silent. So this is either a result of the BIOS or the fan itself. We will see...
