Using an Ultrabay Battery from my T42?

My T42 died a horrible death, most likely from it's being in my backpack while I rode my mountain bike to and from campus. Tilting the screen, or tapping the notebook's underside cause graphical artifacts, and then an eventual crash.

I purchased an ultrabay battery for this T42. Though my new T60 which I'll be receiving today comes with a 9cell battery, I would like to have as much time as possible away from the umbilical cord...plus I usually have no need for the DVD/CD drive and I cannot count the number of times I've accidentally hit the eject button

FRU P/N: 08K8191
10.8V 2.2 AH

I don't want to just throw it in my T60 even though I have a feeling that it would work...I also have a main battery from the T42 which I suppose I could throw in my backpack to gain even MORE time which would be nice:

Thanks guys!

Sadly, they're different batteries and aren't compatible. If you look closely at the ultrabay connector inside the T60 you'll see it's keyed differently. The CD/DVD from the T40 series WILL work, but the batteries will not.

Different batteries...but but but
After 3 years my HP starting having the same problem your T42 has. I finally narrowed it down to whenever the area around the ram got flexed it would crash after causing graphical artifacts. I fixed it by stiffening it with scrap metal that I bonded to it. You could try the same.
