Here's the widescreen models . . .

#1 Post by f1reverb » Sat Nov 25, 2006 4:13 am

Put in these model numbers in the upper right search box: 6369, 6370, 8741, or 8742.

Use this Lenovo website link

Note from Admin: I'm leaving this here even though at first glance it breaks the EPP/Student discount rules. Looking at the site itself, it has the appearance of being open to a large enough population to be OK in my opinion.

you have eagle eyes! So finally they are out ... but I also see some WSXGA T60 models - I thought only T60p is going to be out in widescreen - so much for my myopic foresight!
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Rules of the road :thumbs-UP:

This a good sign! If the T60 models are equipped with WSXGA, maybe the T60p will sport a WUXGA (IPS!) screen!

HEY GUYS YOU ALL DID NOT LOOK AT THIS:

WHEN I CLICKLED ON ADD TO THE CART IT SHOWS IN THE FOLLOWING WINDOW A LIST OF YOUR CTO ITEMS, IT DOESN'T SAY WSXGA SO REALLY SHOWS SXGA, I SAW THAT IS THE SAME CTO MODEL THAT YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE ON THE US SITE, SO YOU ALSO TRY ON THE WEB SITE AND YOU WILL SEE!
T60 >>>2613 HNU (CTO). > 15" SXGA 1400 x 1050 > Windows XP Pro > Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0 GHz
> 2 GB RAM > 128 MB ATI X1400 (hyper Memory)GPU > 100 GB HDD @ 7200 rpm. SATA > DVD Multiburner > Intel a/b/g. - Bluetooth - Finger Reader > 9 Cell Battery

Just a tiny note, try to use something like;

Code: Select all

link text
So that the length of the link won't break the formatting of the thread and widen the horizontal portion.

OoooooK, come on now. There was a whole conference dedicated to just that which was recently archived as there were *no new* posts to it for a good while; besides, that is derailing the thread off-topic, quality is not directly mentioned as subject matter in this thread. Enough with the repeat posts about quality in 3 threads in the T60 Conference.

It appears that the education link listing the widescreens is a teaser for students, who will want a widescreen more than a normal unit. Better to get them salivating for the actual date they will be available instead of buying elsewhere first. I would think the Z61M would suffer in sales with the widescreen T, but not the Z61t.

I would think the Z61M would suffer in sales with the widescreen T, but not the Z61t.
They'll probably just drop the price of the Z series even further. The more I consider it, the Z series really does have a separate appeal than the t60/p does. I use the SD slot and Firewire on my Dell every day, which has thus far dissuaded me from canceling my 1month old order for a z61p- the widescreen is less of a deciding factor (for me) than are the features and higher resolution screen.

The model number search didn't work for me, I just got results for "$99,999" and "$64,999".

Are there any T60p's w/ 14" screen but super high rez?

Thanks,

Looks like someone's jacked up the prices -- perhaps they're in the process of updating them, or they're trying to prevent us from making any orders.

So today's the day we find out about the widescreen models right?!?!

Thanks for the link! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these...

from the review so far.. there's a high possibility that there won't be an IPS screen
