Firewire option in T60 (for miniDV capture)

#1 Post by csicsi » Tue Nov 28, 2006 12:51 pm

Good day to all!

I would like to capture (download) entire 60 min, unmodified, uncompressed (lossless) videos from a miniDV tape played in a Sony TRV camcorder using firewire. (Later, this would be edited, and the edited 10 min re-recorded back onto an other miniDV tape for television broadcast.)

I have the T60p with all of the advanced specs (100GB/7200, 2GB, etc.), but no firewire port.

Can you please advise the best (most reliable) option to make the T60p firewire capable for such applications.

Thanks!

I use this one and it's rock solid: http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10482

Thanks a lot!

Are you doing the same? That is, download miniDV in its original form, maybe back-recording?

I am also interested how to make "sure" that the various programs (eg, Premiere, ImageMixer, Windows MovieMaker) capture and reburn miniDV without any loss?

Thanks again!

I did video capture with this card with my T42p (Premiere) with no problems. With my T60p, I've only edit with external FW800 disk drives and have been getting amazing performance.
