Memory Problems

Hi All, I have a T60p 200794U, and for the past couple of months have received several BSOD stating "Memory Parity" problems. Does anyone know what exactly I am dealing with here? Do I just need to replace the memory on the laptop, or do I have to send it in for service?

I had the same problem with a brand new T60p a couple weeks ago, tech support couldn't solve my problem and I ended up exchanging. It is worrisome to hear that others are having this problem, as I thought it was isolated to myself another on this board who had received our T60ps within a few days of each other.

Hopefully when my replacement finally gets here it won't have the same problem, but I'm more worried now. For starters you can try running a memory scan, pc doctor has one. I had the same problem though and it wasn't the memory, I suspected the bios since I had 2.00g, but updated to 2.01 and had the same issue, so I'm taking a wild guess that my motherboard was bad.

Good luck with that, its definately annoying and Lenovo should fix it, try checking the memory first, but most likely you will end up needing to send it in...

Hmm... I did update to the latest BIOS, 2.01, and to hear you did the same and still have problems doesn't make me feel better either. It actually happened again 5 minutes ago. Thats twice in the past 6 hours or so. I don't have my PC Doctor anymore because I nuked the system when it came in and installed a fresh, clean copy of XP. Is there any other programs that I could use to test the memory? Also, I'm not sure if this is a cause to the problem, but my system is one of the first ones shipped. It was on preorder for about a month and a half before it finally came in.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Try updating your BIOS to 2.03 it's the newest, also you can download PC Doctor from Lenovo see : this page

The BIOS is the 7th or 8th item on this page and PC Doctor is the 10th. I've loaded both with no problems.
