New T60 CPU load always at 50% or higher? even when idle

Just got a new T60 two days ago to replace my T42.

I noticed that on the T60, even when the system is idle not doing anything, the cpu load is always fluxuating between 50% and 100%.

This is not a problem when running on AC, but when running on battery it drains the battery very quickly.

Anyone else notice this? Anyone know of a fix?

Also another strange thing with this is that the access connection manager does not turn off the wireless NIC when the system is plugged into a wired network. On the T42 it would automatically turn off the wireless nic when the ethernet connection is plugged in.

Having used my T42 for nearly 3 years, I'm noticing quite a few quirks with this T60. I wish my boss didn't take my T42 away from me. It was working fine for what I use it for.

open task manager and sort all your processess by cpu %, that should tell you what is eating cpu power

It could be Google Desktop indexing everything... that should stop after a few days.

Of course, the first thing I did when I got mine was remove Google Desktop.

Don't have google desktop installed.

Task manager seems to indicate SPBBCSvc.exe and rtvscan.exe as the mail culprits, but those are part of symantec AV and I ran the same version on the T42 and didn't have these problems. so it's kind of odd.
