Hello simple question - where do you go to check fan speed, CPU temperature etc, etc. I see lots of reference to various speeds etc, but can't figure out where they can be viewed.
Thanks

Check the thinkpad utility work area conference, that's where all the discussion about fan control is, you need to download it.

During install of this, getting error message 'Error during initialization of Winlo driver. (winio.sys missing in app folder or failed to load'.
How to correct this? Or please suggest other shareware?

Both NHC and RMClock (links above, earlier in the thread) are free downloads, and not only monitor your temperatures but also enable you to manage power profiles and adjust your CPU voltages. And both work well.

The software was good for checking that not had a severe heating issue, however, reading elsewhere, changing the cooling outside of using BIOS or the laptop's Power Manager (Control Panel) risks your Thinkpad being toast.
Sadly, this is a problem with some T60 and previous Thinkpad models. If you haven't already read, it might be insightful to read

Hopefully, there will be a BIOS firmware fix for this. I am not holding out any fast hope though as there is an acknowledgement from IBM/Lenevo at least on previous Thinkpad models
