Dual Monitors with MiniDock (DVI+VGA)

#1 Post by ldoogy » Mon Dec 04, 2006 5:23 am

Hi All,

For some reason I was under the impression that DualHead2Go was needed in order to get my T60 with the MiniDock to work with two monitors. It may be old news to people in this forum, but it turns out that it's possible to use both the VGA and the DVI ports simultanuously for a dual head setup. I didn't think that was possible...

Unfortunately for me, I've already bought my DualHead2Go, but this setup works much better. Picture quality is a lot better when using direct connections (certainly in DVI). It looks much better than it did with the DualHead2Go.

Just thought I'd pass this along in case it's news to anyone...

How do you actually configure the laptop to drive both external monitors at the same time?

On the T60, you can do it in the Presentation manager and also, I believe, in the Catalyst control center.

This capability has been discussed many times on this forum. Your Dual-head-to-go may come in useful if you ever want to add a third monitor to your system.
Apathy is on the rise, but nobody seems to care.
