Determining MBoard rev before ordering?

#1 Post by afo » Mon Dec 04, 2006 12:40 pm

Is there a way to determine whether I will have a rev 3 motherboard without actually having the computer in hand?
From what I understand it is only possible to upgrage to Core 2 Duo in the future.

I plan to order a 2623DDU but am paranoid I'll get one that can't be upgraded in the future.

No way to know if buying from Lenovo. Most larger retailers won't know either. Bill here may be able to look for you, but I doubt he wants to open all his boxes and check :P
Have used just about every ThinkPad since the T42 days...

I know you can check it with CPU-Z when you get the machine, but before hand is another matter.
