Having a problem with my T60 CD/DVD drive.

The drive works great for reading/writing CDs, however
when it comes to DVD media, it's a different ballgame
altogether.

Many times the drive has a hard time recognizing DVD data
I burned off of my desktop. I use Fujifilm DVD-R media.

Today, I tried to do my very first DVD burn on my T60
using the same Fujifilm DVD-R media and the laptop would
not even recognize the blank DVD in the drive.

Perhaps its a simple problem that my T60 does not like
Fujifilm media. Perhaps the drive doesn't do DVD-R media.

Could someone please chime in with what you think the
problem might be?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

It is possible that fujifilm and your cd\dvd writer are just not compatible; however, on my t60p, I have used some pretty cheap dvds(Staples brand and others) with no problems, both -R and +R. There is a firmware update which you may want to try and apply. It couldn't hurt to try it. Then again the drive could be faulty. I suggest you try the firmware path first and if that doesn't help try another brand of dvd. If other brands give you problems have the drive replaced under warrantee.
