I'm getting a rather annoying hith pitched noise from my t60p at times.

It is only when it runs on battery - and it stops as i scroll on the screen and do some other stuff which activates either the screen or some other part of the machine ...

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

You should at least locate the source in the laptop to get meaningful help.
Which portion of T60 generates it?

i noticed the same thing. i disabled cpu power management in the bios, and the noise went away. you should give that a try - it's worked for a lot of people on this board.

Thanks for the suggestions, Laundro. I'll give that a shot. I did see the thread but didn't spot that this had worked for others.
