Urgently need your advice! T60 HDD

To cut a long story short:

I ordered a T60, and then decided I wanted a slightly different spec so called Lenovo and asked for an exchange so they shipped me a new T60 (separate order) and now I am just about to ship the old one back (without restocking fee cuz I am exchanging).

Problem is when I put the two side by side my first T60 which has a Toshiba 80Gb HDD sounds much quieter while the my second T60 which has a (I think) Hitachi (HTS54...) 80Gb HDD sounds slightly louder and crankier.

Question
dear advisor is do you think Lenovo will complain if I take the HDD from the fist T60 and put it in the second T60 and send the first one back with the Hitachi HDD??

Note that, both are exactly same spec and both laptops are brand new (<21 days since order).

I need to ship the first one back so please let me know what you think as soon as possible! Please!!

Look at both drives and check the FRU number, if it is the same, they there is no way to know what was installed at the factory. Personally, I would keep the Hitachi, from experience, less problems with Hitachi vs the Toshiba.

They have different FRU numbers for Toshiba and HGST (which I am guessing is Hitachi).

Hmm...chan_man you have put me in a dilemma..shall I go with what is in front me of a better HDD; quieter; faster (according to Disk Speed Utility)i.e the Toshiba or the one (Hitachi) that you suggest will be better in the longer run....

Also found out that the first T60 I ordered also has a NMB keyboard the second one has Chicony also the first has Samsung LCD (albeit with small red dead pixel) while the second one is something call TMD - with no dead pixels.

I get the feeling, the 2613CTO model (second one) has been put together with cheaper parts (hmm could CTO stand for Cheaper Thinkpad Order?)! I have a good mind to take good the parts I like from the first one (2613HJU) (keyboard and harddisk) and stick them into make my second one (CTO) to make it more of the quality I would expect for Lenovo.

I am also thinking whether I should just call them and ask them if I can go ahead and swap those two things??

Its been a difficult day...and it's not over yet!
