Price check - is this a good deal?

#1 Post by makeitcount » Wed Dec 06, 2006 3:01 pm

I have the posibility to get a Thinkpad T60P

with these specs:

T7400
9 Cell battery
1 GB DDR (5300)
XP Home
Wireless ABG
3 year depot warranty
60 HDD SATA
8X max dual layer dvd burner

for a total of 1540 $ (it's brand new)

Also a side question: Would people on here recommend paying the extra cost to upgrade the HDD to a 7200 100gb or buying it seperate from another site?

Thanks!

Depends on the cost of the upgrade. If the upgrade from Lenovo is $130 then you can buy an Hitachi 100gb/7200 from Zipzoomfly for around $150 or less and keep the 60gb which nets out to only an additional $20 for an extra 60gb drive. Not bad.

BTW.. I think $1540 is a good price; but, if you haven't already done so, check with Lenovo's sales reps to see if you can get a better price.
