9-cell battery life (x) for T60

#1 Post by leo2002 » Wed Dec 06, 2006 9:06 pm

Dear all,
For completeness of my previous 6-cell poll. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=34463

I am providing a 9-cell poll here.

Please briefly provide your common condition for measuring battery life, like screen brightness , wireless, apps, etc.

Any input would be highly appreciated!

Thanks as always!

I only get 4-4.5 hours BUT, I have the screen brightness set to 6-7 and wireless is ALWAYS on. I am surfing the web, checking email with MS Outlook, or doing research the whole time I am using MS Word.

I know I get over 5 hours in XP, with brightness at 6 or 7, wifi on all the time, browsing and e-mail... and maybe a flash game.

Battery life in Linux is worse, but I don't have a benchmark.

T60p users are going to be about ~20% lower due to the power draw of the S-IPS screen and V52xx video system.

They should probably be polled separately.

I put >6 because I get about 6.5hrs with everything set for powersaving which I think is the best way to measure battery life becaues there are so many variables the only way to be consistent is to either set everything to the max or to the min. Turning on wireless and using the net turns that down to about 5-5.5 hours.
