i've had my T60 for a while, but i've just recently started using the trackpoint.
is it possible to lock, or engage the button so that you don't have to hold it down to scroll with the trackpoint?
with my kensington expert trackball, if you press two buttons at the same time, it locks the scrolling feature, and you can scroll just by moving the ball up and down without holding any buttons down - i'm wondering if the trackpoint has a similar feature.

With the right hand position, you won't notice you're holding it down. Try using your thumb to click the buttons, while using your index finger on the TrackPoint. In very short time, it will feel natural.

that's what i'm doing, but i sprained my thumb a while back, and so i have a hard time holding buttons down with it.

Yes, you should be able to do this with Windows Mouse Accessibility Options. Open up Control Panel, double-click Mouse, then the TrackPoint tab. Find the button labelled "Accessibility Settings" and click it. Check the "Enable Button lock" feature and then move the slider to whatever time you want ("Time for activation"). Click the ok buttons. Now click the middle button AND HOLD it for the time you've specified. The scroll icon should stay enabled and you can then lift your finger/thumb from the button and scroll around. Click the button again and the scroll icon should disappear.
(edit: BTW, this change will affect all of the TrackPoint buttons, not just the middle one.)

cool, thanks for the tip.
it would be nice if you could double click to lock it, but this is almost as good.
