there should be another entry for the panel on that page. copy the part number and paste it into the search box at ibm.com. you'll then see a link to the page which lists that part #. go to it, hit Ctrl F on your browser and you'll see the part listed. let me know if you see LG or Samsung. from what I can tell just by browsing the forums and reading reviews (including the one at NBR - first link on Google), the Samsung is worse than the LG.

You will find that monitors with a better color response will tend to make certain blues in the Microsoft user interface look purpleish. The flex view is a bit more purple than I would like too.baehrlich wrote:After reading this entire thread, I'm wondering how to adjust the color properties on my flexview T60 so that the light blue areas appear less purple? I'm somewhat color-challenged.
Thanks

WPWoodJR:
I forgot to paste some links of pictures I have taken of several T series over the past few years, including some ID Tech UXGA panels. note the caption under each picture.

This doesn't work for me. I can't find another entry for the panel, and also the search on part number doesn't work for me. However I did find this webpage that lists the 15 inch panels for T60 and T60p:hoya wrote:there should be another entry for the panel on that page. copy the part number and paste it into the search box at ibm.com. you'll then see a link to the page which lists that part #. go to it, hit Ctrl F on your browser and you'll see the part listed. let me know if you see LG or Samsung. from what I can tell just by browsing the forums and reading reviews (including the one at NBR - first link on Google), the Samsung is worse than the LG.

It seems that the 15 inch SXGA+ Flexview panels are only made by LG-Phillips and Boe Hydis. Since Boe Hydis are currently not producing panels for Lenovo, I assume that I have an LG-Phillips.
In your pictures (which I had seen before) you can see very clearly what I am talking about when I say the SXGA+ 15" Flexview (LG-Phillips) has better color response than the other LCD panels. In the first link, the picture titled "Flexview 3" clearly shows superior color saturation and superior yellows and oranges. You can also see how "blue" the non-Flexview panels on either side look. In the picture titled "Flexview 5" you can see superior greens.hoya wrote: I forgot to paste some links of pictures I have taken of several T series over the past few years, including some ID Tech UXGA panels. note the caption under each picture.

when you get to the page listing all of your parts, hit ctrl-f on your browser and search on 13N7078 or 13N7079 - that should correspond to the entry listing your panel.
I noticed that parts listing page shows two variations on the non-existent Hydis UXGA panel:
LCD panel, 15in UXGA FFS (sRGB), BOE-Hydis
LCD panel, 15in UXGA FFS, BOE-Hydis
according to ThinkWiki, "The FFS (Fringe Field Switching) technology is patented by BOE-Hydis LCD manufacturing company and extends conventional IPS technology by offering even wider viewing angles (full 180 degrees are claimed) and better transmittance."

Here's the link, I just can't find the panel:
My T60p
Presumably the sRGB panel has a color response similar to the standard sRGB color space. I wonder what color space the other panel is tuned to?
