Hi,

i just got an email that my T60 is already shipped and i should get it in few days, now i have a question,

i have a 80GB sata Harddrive from my old HP, and was wondering if i could replace the 40GB drive that comes with the T60 with this one. i have replace laptop harddrives before, but it seems like thinkpads have some kind of protection and the drive is somehow registered using its firmware.

here are some info on the drive.

TOSHIBA MK8034GSX
HDD2D38 C ZK01

thanks alot.

There was an issue like this on t43's and some other models; but you should have no problems with the MK8034GSX on a T60.

As long as that HDD has a SATA interface, you can use it in the primary bay of the T60 natively. :)

The 2010 Error occurs only on units that use a SATA-PATA bridge with a SATA controller such as the T43/p, R52, and X41.
