T60p with Core2Duo and 15" SXGA+?

Hi,

since there will be no T60p's with Core2Duo and UXGA displays, and I don't want to sacrifice vertical screen space, the only alternative seems to be a 15" SXGA+ display. (Right?)

The only problem: there seem to be T60 models with 15" SXGA+, but no T60p models.

I found one here, (attention, website in german), but I cannot find that model in the current tabook.

Anyone can offer some insight?

Also, does anybody know if there will be T series notebooks with a vertical resolution of 1200 where the display has the same height as the 15" UXGA displays?

Thanks in advance,
mitch

hi, from what i have heard the 1600x1200 15" res std screen will be back in April? as soon as they line up a new supplier. in the meanwhile you can go for the t60p widescreen. i have heard that soon there will be a better res model which should be basically the same as the std 1600x1200 only in widescreen. they don't always release all models on lenovo, check the web.

In the US you can customize the T60p to have the 1400x1050 flexview. It's a recent thing though, so that would explain why any pre-config models they do offer would not yet be in the tabook.

I had the same question yesterday.

April you say? That's not cool, I wanted it in like a month...

Where is the source of info stating that they are coming back in April?

I'm all for this and think it's great, but I want to seperate fact from fiction...

I just received a C2D 15" T60p with SXGA+ screen (as in my sig), so I'd be quite surprised if the model had already disappeared. It is a customized one, and I don't recall any preconfigured similar systems. I can certainly vouch for the quality of the SXGA+ IPS screen; its brighter and sharper than even the very nice gloss screen from the D400v (Sager NP4080) it replaces, and has the widest viewing angle I've ever seen in an LCD. Personally, I've found in the long run SXGA+ is ideal for 15" screens, its easier on the eyes than UXGA, but big enough not to be frustrating to multitask on.

I can confirm April on behalf of widesreen Flexviews on T60p. My distributor (in Finland) said that, at the same time, they will introduce the higher res models too.

Lenovo is really screwing up big time at the moment. At least in Finland, you can now only get 15" t60ps with normal screens, but you can get t60s (that don't have FireGLs) with Flexview screens.

I need a new laptop, but I don't know whether to go for an expensive non-FireGL T60 model that needs atleast a HDD ugrade to 7200rpm, or if I should wait until April, when everything's shipping with Vista, and thus are slow and troublesome, regardless of the model.

Well, i think that it is country specific which combination lenovo offers in each country.
I got the t60p with 15" SXGA+ flexview two weeks ago, as you can see in my profile and I am very happy with it. No extraordinary noise or heat, but maybe that´s because I need my notebook for my job and not for gaming.

Could you tell me the model number of your T60p? I have an offer for a 2007-1ZG (UT01ZGE-H), but it has a ATI FireGL V5200, while you list yours with a V5250. (What is the difference anyway?)

As per this thread, I managed to use the Lenovo US site to configure a T60p with a C2D T7600 and a 15" Flexview. Does this mean they are available, am I missing the boat or am I being lied to?

I couldn't acquire the same config despite all my efforts my local Lenovo site though (New Zealand).

hi,

my t60p is a 2007VEF. mine was offered with a V5200 but it was shipped with a V5250. i think that they ship all new t60p with the new V5250.
