I too have had issues with fan noise, but bios 2.03 seems to have calmed it down a bit. Bios 2.07 actually made it worse, so I rolled back. My CPU usually hovers around 42c when I am plugged in surfing the web and using Microsoft Office. GPU is around 58c (x1300). Using the TP Fancontrol Utility, I see that my fan usually spins around 2900rpms.
The fan does have short periods of inactivity when it is finished expelling the hot air. Here is the question: When those of you who have T60s say the fan is almost silent, are you using the TP on your lap, or on another surface? Because when I have it on my desk, the fan hardly comes on at all. When it is on my lap, then fan kicks on within 30 to 40 minutes of light usage.
Thanks for any and all insight you can give.
