Fingerprint Software 5.5 repeatedly crashes

I recently installed various ThinkPad software updates, including Fingerprint (FP) Software 5.5. When I then rebooted, my system crashed when displaying the login screen. And it crashed repeatedly on every reboot, so I couldn't log in. The culprit was FP 5.5.

I sorted it out by booting in safe mode and doing a System Restore. But, now I'm back to FP 5.4 and can't update.

Anybody else had such problems with FP 5.5? Or does anybody know how to install it without the subsequent problem described above?

I'm using Fingerprint Software 5.5 no problem

I had the same problem after installing it on Vista Business. When it reboots, hit F8 and boot using Last Known Good configuration. That should get you into Windows.
