How to blank the screen only

#1 Post by strohscw » Fri Dec 15, 2006 1:28 am

hello together,

since about 10 days i own my first thinkpad, t60p, which i use mainly for cad/fem presentations.
i am very happy about it, perfect screen, perfect speed, allmost no noise, no dead pixels, much better in build quality than my former acer travelmate 8004.

there is only one point that i miss:

is it possible to blank only the screen while it is doing calculations in the background?

it would be perfect to have it on one of the unused fn-buttons (for ex. fn+f6).

any suggestions??

thanks in advance for the help.

Not sure about the T60 systems, but the older T2x (and I believe A3x systems) have a way to turn off the display by using the Fn+F3 key sequence. This will shut off the display (and the backlight) until a key is pressed or any mouse/trackpoint movement. Does your T60's F3 key have a picture of a screen with an "X" next to it? If so, then I would think that Fn+F3 should work.

Fn+F3 does it.
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU
