Release date for T61 with Vista?

#1 Post by sonoma » Sun Dec 17, 2006 8:58 am

Hi all,
I'm just wondering if anyone has information about when the next model of T series (T61??) will be released. I think the next model will be a good buy as it is most likely to come with Vista. Thanks for your reply in advance.

Probably sometime after the newer chipset comes out with full native 64bit support. Perhaps then we will see that fun $14,000 add-on option for 2 sticks of 4gb DDR 5300

Current chipset has full 64-bit support and people are running with it. It simply does not address more than the current 3GB RAM limit. This might be what you meant, but I just wanted to clarify it.

What is the advantage of running with 64 bits? I am currently running Vista 32 bit and it runs well on a T60.

Depending on its uses it can be faster for certain applications. Most people doign their average thing would never tell the difference.
