What is the maximum memory configuration on a T6x/p? I want to install the OS on a mirrored RamDisk for fast performance - need at least 8GB Ram for it though.

Indeed. You can install 4GB, but Windows will use only 3GB. I'm not sure if Linux can use all 4 or not.

No 4GB on linux. No OS can use 4GB on Intel's current laptop chipset. This problem includes Windows, Linux, and OS X. I thought I heard it should change with Santa Rosa, but who know.

Whether it's 3GB or 4GB, it's still not enough for the OP!

What would someone run in a ramdisk that would need 8GB of ram? That just sounds like bad implementation. You don't need that much space to load the parts of an OS that would make a difference performance wise, and anything else is just a pointless waste.
