Got my T60 Widescreen!

#1 Post by croak » Mon Dec 18, 2006 1:15 pm

Got my T60 Widescreen (8741-4GU)! :D

As I said in my shipping thread reply:

Gotta say I am impressed. It's wider than I exepcted, even though the review pictures showed that. But it's lighter than you'd think I'd be, maybe it's all perception.

The screen is really nice, seems better than my t42 and t43 14" screens.

If there are any questions I can answer on this model, I'll try to help.

Congrats...
Can you post some pictures of its screen, and maybe compare it with some other screen?

Thanks

I just ordered that model this morning (87414GU). Glad to hear they're shipping.

Now to figure out what sleeves will fit - MBP is very close in size so wonder if the Brenthaven Edge II will fit.

sweet...mine is showing that it will be here tomorrow but it also showed 12/22 earlier today. All I'm hoping is that I get it by Friday. Hope you enjoy it.

Cool! I would like to know the difference between T60W and Z61, for my reading,
pro: thin
cons: missing SD card reader, 1394, s-video, and camera.
hard to decide which to choose
T60p 2613-ENU: 2.13GHz, 2.0GB DDR2, 100GB 7200rpm, DVDRW, 15''IPS, 9-cell;
T40 2373-94U: 1.6 GHz, 1.0GB, 80GB 4200rpm, CDRW/DVD, 14'', 9-cell.

I'll try to get some pics up tonight.

With the machine open. and trying to flex it, it gives very little.

I picked this over a Z because of the size. I had a Macbook, and didn't use the camera, video out, or firewire, so I didn't think I needed those from a Z series. Although, I did want the Z61P UWXGA screen, but this WSXGA+ is really nice.

I wish my T4x series batteries worked on this, but they dont. I didn't know the T60 batteries were different..

Loving the machine though. It really "feels" light. Maybe because it's spread over a bigger size? Carrying it is easy.

Hmm, wish the external wireless switch kill just 802.11, not bluetooth too. But I'm just being picky. :)
