Hey everyone,

First, I am a longtime convert to ThinkPads, but only recently did I a order my first one. Up until now, I have only had vicarious experiences with IBM/Lenovo laptops. I must also say that this forum is a priceless resource for everyone interested in TPs, and for that I am grateful.

I have a dilemma here. I ordered (12/14) a 2613CTO T60. While playing around today, and thanks to my insomnia, I found another T60, through academic configuration, that's pretty closely priced to the one I ordered. There are some differences in the configuration, namely the warranty, the GPU, and the battery.
As a result, I have started to experience the typical discomfort and irritation, mixed with a little bit of frustration and insecurity, that comes from having too many choices. Here are the two configurations:

2613CTO:
C2D 7200 (2.0 GHZ)
XP Pro
14.1 SXGA+
ATI x1400 (128 MB)
1 GB (512 x 2)
100 GB 5400 HDD
FP reader
CDRW/DVD
9 cell battery
1 year Depot repair
$1333.00 + tax

2007GCU
C2D 7200 (2.0 GHZ)

ATI x1300 (64 MB)
1 GB (1 dimm)

$1383.79 + tax
(I must add that this configuration cannot be changed)

The price difference is only 50 buckaroos, and the configuration is almost identical. What bothers me most is the warranty. Now, keep in mind that IF I cancel the first order, the holiday sale is over, and I would not be able to get it again. I hate it when this happens to me!!!!!

What does everyone think? Are the differences insignificant, should I just stick with the 2613CTO? It has not shipped yet, so I am still on time to cancel it and get the other one. I thank everyone for their input.

I forgot to say that the first one has Bluetooth, whereas the 2007GCU does not (at least, not that I can tell).

If it were my order I would call the salesperson at Lenovo and change my order to a single 1gb sodimm (+10) and change my warrantee to 3 year (+149). That makes the price of the 2613 about $110 more then the 2007. For $110 you get a better gpu, a larger capacity battery, bluetooth, and 20gb of additional storage. To me the cost difference between the 2 models is not significant enough to cancel the 2613 order.

Thanks for your answer. That makes sense. The only thing is that the RAM was a "free" upgrade, since I tried to originally buy the laptop on Dec. 11,after 10 p.m., but the website refused to give me the free upgrade to 1 gb of RAM (and all the sale prices, for that matter). So I had to call on Dec. 14 and explain this to the rep. I told him that I had screen shots and all, and he said he could give me the RAM, but I would have to install it. Long story short, the upgrade to the 1 gb stick would be from the 512, which is about $90.
I do plan to buy the warranty though.
