I believe this is correct for the most part. BOE-Hydis is out of the game (

) and they were producing both SXGA+ and UXGA FlexView panels for IBM/Lenovo. LG was (AFAIK) only ever supplying SXGA+; there is not a single LG-manufactured UXGA IPS screen in any ThinkPad that I am aware of. IDTech made both SXGA+ and UXGA IPS displays earlier in the T-series' (and select R-series 15" models) life, but that stopped with/after the T43 (although there were a few select IDTech UXGA that made their way into a handful of T60s, even though the HMM for T60 does not show this as an option).
Now that BOE-Hydis and IDTech are both gone, and LG never made UXGA, LG remains the sole supplier of FlexView panels for new T60p purchases (what little of them are making it out the door), and thus the only FlexView option that exists anymore is SXGA+ by LG.
Personally, I think it's a minor miracle that even the LG panel is still an option these days.

I wonder why Lenovo never went to LG and asked them to make a UXGA version? At least it would bring 4:3 UXGA IPS back to the possible options for people that want 'em, even if LG's specific matte coating is too much for some people to be able to ignore (I've never seen anything except for IDTech panels myself so I can't comment on how bad it is to these eyes).

I'm returning my T60 ordered from Lenovo.com
It has the LG 15" SXGA FlexView.
The sparkle effect is quite noticeable, but it didn't bother me much.
The reason for the return is lack of brightness.

No mention of a restocking fee anywhere.
If it turns out that way, the reason could be that I've previously filed a complaint about the screen's lack of brightness.
Lenovo offered to check it out at the repair center, but I've decided to return it instead.
