Battery reset, it actually did something good.
My new T60 had 15 cycles, and its 9 cell battery dropped down to 82.10 already, from 84.24. It has been slowly dropping the past few days, like .02 or so per cycle. Today I figured a reset for the first time might help, and it actually did. Once the battery his 0.00, it bounced up to 83.62! I figure I will leave it like this, and maybe 15-20 cycles later I might reset again if it dropped some more.

How many cycles were on the battery when you did that?

Slightly off-topic, but my ultrabay battery was down to about 58% capacity after 40 or so cycles. Others on this board said Lenovo would replace it, so I called and they said they would send a new one out within 3-5 business days. In fact, I received it the very next day! So if you think your battery is defective, don't hesitate to call.
I am still under my first-year, depot-service portion of the warranty.

Oops, should have mentioned the reset didn't work. I tried twice.
Interestingly enough, after having the new battery in for about two hours (charging it and now using the laptop on battery power), I just got a message that the status of the new battery is "fair" (82%) and a reset is recommended. Sheesh. I guess I will try resetting it when I am through working today.
Maybe I'm not so satisfied after all...

Is it normal for the battery reset to go in this way? Charge 100%, then discharge 100% and recharge to 100% and keep on charging even when the battery gauge has shown 100% for another 4 hours and thinking it is ok, i cancel the reset and later found out that the battery has shown me the word "fair" and i need to restart resetting the battery again and it just can't seem to stop charging after it reached 100%.

Perhaps that was one thing that was wrong with your battery? Also, 100% can be displayed for a while, before the remaining capacity and full charge capacity values equal eachother. After 15-20 cycles I might suggest doing the reset again, but this time leaving the battery and laptop to do its thing.

My 6cell battery on 2007-66U also kept lossing its full charged capacity since the first day I got it a few weeks ago, it's only 55 now comparing with 58.x at the beginning. My previous X23 and other two HP laptops doesn't have this problem(in fact my X23's battery still had 100% design capacity when I sold it after 3 years of using).
I may try to reset it if it getting worse.
