T60 Replicator Lan connection

I have a old replicator for a IBM T60. The lan port on the replicator no longer works. Is there any way to disable the lan port on the replicator it self when docked so i can get the LAN connection on my laptop to work instead? When i try to plug the lan cable into my laptop, i cant get any lights showing on the ethernet port in laptop. Any suggestions? I hate to throw away the replicator just cuz the ethernet doesnt work on it. Thanks

The T60 was released just this year (2006). The docking stations for it were also released this year, and the T60 isn't backwards compatible with previous docks.

Can you be specific what you mean by "old replicator?"
