Hello,

I have ordered two T60p 2007-8JG UT08JSP + 1GB PC2-5300 CL5 Non-Parity 40Y7734 to replace a t40p and a t41.

Anyone know if the RAM upgrade to 2GB is the correct one?

The display is 14" 1400*1050, I read somewhere that it wasen't a very good LCD but was the only option here.

Best Regards and Happy New Year !!!

That should work. I upgraded from 1 tow 2 GB of RAM as well (using Corsair modules). So far no problems and installing the module is a piece of cake.

I use the same panel. The display is quite good - I love with working with SXGA on 14". So don't worry. The 14" XGA supposed to be kinda crappy.

Happy New Year too!

Without doin' any look up on Lenovo - probably yes: it might be a localized version as FRG for Germany.

I've the normal one - a T60 14" SXGA+. In my eyes the screen is quit good with some light shades on borders due limited viewing angle of this panel type. You'll notice that only on bright/white screens. And your ordered memory module should work fine. Read the manual's instruction for your T60 to learn how to add more memory to your T60. It's that easy as I told you.

Enjoy your TP and have a Happy NY.

I ordered the exact same model (2007-8JG) roughly over a week ago. When they both arrive, let's change notes about the displays. I've heard bad things about it as well, but just as you, I couldn't see any options. The display must be better than on my Z60t. If not, I'll sell it and move to Mac's boot camp.

T60p should come with a UXGA LCD considering that at least in Spain are extremely expensive !!!.

Have you also pick additiona RAM?

Best Regards.

I'm more worried about the graininess of the display, which is quite annoying on my Z60t. White backgrounds appear "dirty" on the screen. The display is also very dim and the viewing angles are poor. I could say that the display is quite evenly lit, if it really was lit. I suppose, it's only possible to notice light leakage with brighter displays. To be honest, the screen on my Z60t is the worst, I've seen on new laptops since the late 90's.

I haven't yet ordered additional RAM, but I will. I also ordered the ultrabay SATA HDD-adapter, so I can easily do backups anywhere (after I buy another HDD).
