Fingerprint Reader Initialization

I have a new T60 and I have been running the Fingerprint Software along with a hard drive password (I removed CSS). During a full boot sequence everything works fine and I am able to use one fingerprint scan for both the hard drive and windows passwords. However, quite often if I shut my computer down into hibernation mode when I restart my computer the fingerprint reader does not appear to initialize for when I am asked for a scan for my hard drive password. I can run my finger over the scanner and nothing happens (no errors, it just doesn't seem to be activated) Eventually, if I cancel the scan and type in may password I will get to the windows boot screen and here I can use a finger scan no problems.

Any idea why the reader won't initialize for the hard drive password when coming out of hibernation?
