Stupid forward/backward keys

Is there a way to stop the page forward/backward buttons from working? I'm not sure if that's the right term for them but they're the two buttons located above the left and right arrow keys. I can't freaking stand it when I've typed a long [censored] post or something online and I accidentally hit one of them and it wipes out EVERYTHING I was just working on.

Someone may know how to disable them, but if I hit the backarrow accidentally, I just press forward arrow. Most times (over 90 percent of times) that restores what I was working on.

Same here, including info in typed forms.

I find these keys extremely useful when I browse - you'll get used to them in a short while.

Yes. Just remap those keys to something else with utility KeyTweak.

Well, I do see in Software Installer: ThinkPad web navigation keys agent (which is part of Hotkey Features). Perhaps you could just uninstall the ThinkPad web navigation keys agent using Software Installer?

I only have the ThinkVantage Power Manager and Fingerprint software installed. No other IBM software.

I installed KeyTweak but don't see those buttons available for modification.

The key I have trouble with is the Shift Lock key. I'm constantly pressing it instead of the Tab Key. I'd like to be able to simply disable it.

Is there a Thinkvantage function that will permit it?

Download the Keyboard Customizer Utility from Lenovo. On the Key Sensitivity tab is a box that is normally checked: Enable Browser Keys. Uncheck that box.

:::

I like those keys, very good & useful.....
Luckly is just you don't like it.

Maybe you need to learn more how to
control your hand to hit the right target
more accurate!

Agree all above!

well. I compared several brand of laptops on typing the keyboard and all of them I have a mistake to type except the ThinkPad that I was typing at 99.9% accurate also, is one of the several reasons I bought Thinkpad that is on the way.

other thing , Compusa is now selling the thinkpad t60 1953 D9U 14" for $1,119 so if you live near by one of these stores you can feell it before you buy!! like some people saying.
