battery vs AC cable
battery vs AC cable
Is it true that leaving the AC cable plugged in all the time will - over time - reduce battery time?
Is it better to fully charge and then unplug the AC cable?
Thanks a lo for you rhelp.

Re: battery vs AC cable
Nope. In fact, that's the worst thing to do for the battery's health, because you want to use the battery as infrequently as possible. Just leave the battery in the laptop and keep the laptop plugged in.Zweibel wrote:Is it better to fully charge and then unplug the AC cable?

I was thinking about that, well my lappy is on the way. So, the charging circuity in a thinkpad will not overcharge the battery only when needed and called like "safe" way on battery health??EOMtp wrote:What you state is true in general for charging batteries. However, the Thinkpad's charging circuitry turns off charging when preset limits have been reached. Consequently, one may leave a Thinkpad connected to a plugged-in AC adapter with no ill effects for the battery.
because i will have it sitting for long time on my desk & i rarely go somewhere like hotspot with it and i like to have my lappy ready at any time to go mobile with friends.
