How to call the IBM easyServ
How to call the IBM easyServ
My T60 has problem. During upgrading bios, the windows xp has blue screen and can't boot normally again. I want to repair it my friend, he will take the notebook to Cleveland. ( now I am in China)
I wrote email to askibm@vnet.ibm.com about how to repair hardware problem.
They give me the following reply:
Please note that you have to call EZ-Serv Customer Care
at 1-800-887-7435, option 2 ( for ThinkPad technical
support) and a representative will further assist you.
Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.
to 8:00 p.m.EST.
Does this mean if I want to use EasyServ? I should call this phone
1-800-887-7435? I have this question because the user help tells, if want to get warranty service, should call 1-800-426-7378. I don't know which one is better choice.
if you have used the EasyServ service before, please tell me how to do it?

lol, just give the machine to ur friend and let him call IBM.
However, u have to make sure the machine has warranty in the U.S, for some models does not have international warranty.
Also, I believe if ur friend calls IBM, and they will ask some info about ur machine, such who is the owner, ur address, ect.
good luck
Also, I do think u need COA.

My T60 can only be repaired in US, Canada, Japan, Korea four place.
The luck thing is it is in warranty.
My friend and I don't have good english speaking and listening level.
So I want to make sure how to dial the 800 before use it. It may be so low level problem to most of persons. But it is the difficult question to me.
I want to know, if I want to use EasyServ, after call the 1-800-887-7435, which option I should choose? I only understand the first choice I should use is "1 - hardware problem". Sorry for my bad english language skill

hi ronan_zj,
I want to repair it locally. But bad news is, this notebook is brought by my boss from US and take it to China.
In China, Lenovo 800 service call says "They can't repair this type machine, even I want to pay for it".
You may not know, the service quality of Lenovo thinkpad in China is very worse than in other country (such as US, Canada).

Because they dont have ur model parts, so its impossible to repair it for u in China. Every single replacement part has to mach the S/N number.
BTW, I don't believe Lenovo has a bad reputation on service. I had Lenovo when I was in China and was absolutly satisfied with their service.
I don't use IWS service of Thinkpad, but in China, you need to prepare many information about you.
If you can read Chinese, you can see this page or translate them by Google.
http://www-900.ibm.com/lenovoinfo/cn/su ... /iws.shtml
You need send many private information such as what time you buy it? The buyer information and invoice. what time you go to US? The copy of passport that include the US visa.
You must completely prove, you went to US and during the time, you buy the notebook.
Another difference is, every T series is very very more expensive than in US. I can't understand it.
