Bluetooth Device not found

Hi,

Fairly new T60P. Trying to use the built in Bluetooth for the first
time with the Logitech 270 mouse I just bought.

I noticed that when I press Fn+F5, only 802.11 Wireless radio On/Off
is listed (and it works fine). From doing the searches on this forum,
I got an impression that there should be an option for BlueTooth
as well? If so, how do I enable it.

(here is a snapshot)

Also, clicking on Bluetooth configuration on Control Panel brings
up the message that no device has been found. But I would think
it is tied to the first problem (enabling the radio)

Andy advise?

What is the model number of your T60 (i.e. 2007-6GU)?

Since yours is a CTO, I can't find any information on it myself. Go to the following page and enter the information. See if Bluetooth is listed. Parts lookup

Another piece of info -- there is no Bluetooth in Device Manager
under Network Adopters.

I downloaded Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate Firmware upgrade and tried to install it (after reinstalling the software and Microsoft Bluetooth support) but the installer says that it does not see the hardware that matches the installation profile.

I did what you said, and I don't see the bluetooth on the list.
What do I make of it?

I don't think you have a Bluetooth adapter installed in your T60. Built-in Bluetooth is not so easy to add, because you have to take the display panel apart. I suggest you look for a USB, PC Card, or ExpressCard solution.

Sadly, I think you are right. I was confused by the fact that I have
My Bluetooth places on my desktop -- but that might be due to the fact that I have a standard corporate image on my machine.

Where can I find the instructions for putting bluetooth in -- I want
to figure out if it is worth the trouble.

Thanks
