Hot plug ethernet cable & power supply

Sorry for the dumb question.
Is there any problem to hot plug Hot plug ethernet cable & power supply ?

Better to be safe then find out you toasted something, so not dumb.
It is ok to hot plug both
At least I have been doing it for years with no negative results

You may not want to hot plug your Ethernet if you're running on battery and you've collected a lot of static electricity by walking around or whatnot. But then you might not want to cold plug an Ethernet connector in that case either. I wouldn't.

I *think* the exposed metal hinges of the display and the shields of the VGA and USB ports are well grounded in the machine, so you might first want to touch one of those to a ground (or ground yourself and touch a hinge) before plugging in anything static-sensitive.

BTW, plugging in the AC adapter won't do anything for ground. If it is of the 2 prong AC cord type, it is double-insulated and the ground on the DC connector is floating.
