Setup the Recovery Console without F6

#1 Post by jjt3hii » Fri Jan 12, 2007 4:43 am

So... if you install the recovery console locally and boot to it you must provide the intel sata driver diskette downloaded from IBM or else it will bluescreen. I couldn't stand that. It took me a little while to figure out, but I was able to include the newest iaStor.sys driver directly into the boot process.

Maybe this will help someone else, I dunno, maybe im just crazy, but take it at what it's worth...

Just extract those 2 files to the cmdcons folder. Overwrite the existing txtsetup.sif file. It works for me... My OS is XP Pro w/ SP2 fully upated. My notebook is a t60p widescreen with Intel Core 2 Duo. 8741-C2U. I have no clue if this works on any other models as it's specific to the "Intel(R) 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH7M)".
