I used the fan control v0.18 on my t60 and it worked. after I set the smart control mode the fan was running for 5min(level 5, 3300rpm)and rest for 3~4min. maybe I am worrying too much, but will it be harmful if the fan is started and stopped too frequently?

Hi,

I don't think so. While the fan is being controlled by the BIOS it starts almost as frequently as t would do using tpfancontrol.

For instance: here are my tpfancontrol results:

[16.01.2007 02:01:16] Fan: 0x01 / Highest: 68°C (49 39 41 68 50 n/a 34 n/a 45 49 50 n/a)
[16.01.2007 02:01:16] Smart: Set fan control to 0x00, Result: OK
[16.01.2007 02:06:27] Fan: 0x00 / Highest: 72°C (53 39 41 72 50 n/a 34 n/a 45 49 52 n/a)
[16.01.2007 02:06:27] Smart: Set fan control to 0x01, Result: OK
[16.01.2007 02:07:36] Fan: 0x01 / Highest: 68°C (50 38 40 68 50 n/a 34 n/a 43 48 50 n/a)
[16.01.2007 02:07:36] Smart: Set fan control to 0x00, Result: OK

As you can see the fan turns on after having more than 5 minutes of break, stays on for quite a minute and will shut of finally. So don't worry!

Great! Thanks for your reply.
Ahm...the result you post above is under the Smart mode or under the Bios mode?
