Runtime error - Client Security Solution

#1 Post by mcvosi » Tue Jan 16, 2007 12:13 pm

I'm getting runtime errors when my users login to their T60's. The runtime error is with css_splash.exe.

Anyone else seeing this?

css_splash.exe is basically an informational prompt for Client SEcurity Solution - it does not provide any useful function. If it is giving you problems, it is safe to delete. use the 'search' function in the start menu to find the file and delete it.

Yep, that's what I did.

Thanks.

I just started running into this too; after doing a complete update of a few T60s systems to see if I can bring more stability to them ... so far so good, other than this annoying error.

Only non-admins are getting it. But wait - I run as a non-admin most of the time, and I don't get it ... hmmmm .... I'm at the same version as my colleague. Weird. I made the other user an admin, had him log on, to see if this was a 'one time' issue, but it's not. As an admin he doesn't get it but as a non-admin he still gets it. Very annoying. I told the user to find and delete the exe, but of course he gets an access denied, so I'll have to either remote-connect to his system or make him an admin again.

Way to go Lenovo, yet another annoying issue raised by a program that probably has no business being there in the first place!

The error message includes (for others searching): visual c++ runtime library Runtime Error! The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact ...
