im trying to install a clean copy of windows on my new T60, however it gets to "setup is starting windows" and just hangs there.
tried it with my cdrw/dvd from my T42, stops at the same place.
this is the first time i've installed windows on a sata drive, do i need drivers for my sata hdd? if so, where can i get dos drivers for them?

To install windows with a standart windows cd you need to change the harddrive to compability mode in the bios.

You need to press F1 and enter the bios. Change the SATA setting to compatability mode. Then, once you are done installing Windows, you will need to switch it back to the previous mode. This will require installing a driver.
Search this forum for a similar thread. It has a link to Lenovo's website where the driver is.
Someone beat me to it!
