Quick Question: Will new omegas install on my v5250??

#1 Post by StarSheep » Sat Jan 20, 2007 5:55 am

Hi guys,

as I messed up my system last time fiddling around with the drivers and I don't wanna recover again, maybe someone can answer me that question.
Right now I have a performance of:

- 3DMark05: 3434
- 3DMark06: 1542

Is that alright ?
So any gain from installing, if they work, form the new omegas 7.1?

Thanks

Well then it seems the inf doesn't have the V5250 in it right?

Thanks for trying. I guess I am stuck with the lenovo drivers then.

What are your scores on 3dmark btw?

Thanks

I get about 3900 (5250, 2Gb, 2.33GHz merom). Not tried the omegas, but everything runs fine as it is...

Are your settings also reduced in the Catalyst Control Center?

Is there a way to reenable the settings?

Thanks

My catalyst settings were 'max performance' as I was running on ac power. I didnt change them in any way.

Unless you have the same CPU as me then I would say your scores look perfectly fine. I've heard the omegas dont make much difference on the t60p, in any case.

Hi

Sorry I must have misspelled that.
I meant the CCC has reduced options on the T60p.
Is there a way to reenable them?

THanks

View menu then choose Advanced? I'm assuming you mean less option choices. The v5250's CCC looks about the same as the one on my desktop with an X1900XTX.

Another thing you could try if you want more control of settings is to install ATI Tray Tools.

Your 3DMarks look to be right where they should be. I don't know about you but I'm very happy with the V5250's performance. I specifically got the T60p because it had the best graphics performance for it's weight (and the Trackpoint of course :D ). So far it's been exceeding my expectations. Games I expected it to choke on, Oblivion and X3:Reunion specifically, it actually runs really well.

I was hugely disappointed with the v5250's performance in my t60p.. until I dug around and realized that the "PowerPlay" option in CCC was turned all the way down for both AC and Battery power :)

I don't play a lot of games, but I do indulge in SimCity4 from time to time. But it (as well as every other graphics intensive game I've tried) crashes after only minutes of play. (I know this has been discussed in other threads..) While it lasts, it's very fast!
