Black shoulder on top of screen

After a lot of reading in this very good forum my first question....I own a T60 14" with Sxga. I don´t really know if it appeared before and I just recognised yet, but my TP has a black shoulder between the illuminated screen and the case. It is not symetrical, it rises from 1mm on the upper left to 1,5 mm to the upper right. Does any one else has this problem or knows how to fix it???

I just was wondering if there is something like a recalibration for the screen, like you can do it on common tube monitors. Bit I haven´t found anything like that.

CRT monitors have a coating of phosphors. The pixels (displayed image) are placed by the cathode ray gun. Professional CRTs have controls that let you adjust the positioning of this cathode ray as it paints each screen.
LCD have discrete pixels that are made into the screen. This of this as a series of lightbulbs laid out in a matrix. A 1024x768 pixels LCD therefore has 1024x768 "light bulbs" in rows of 1024.
Anyway, this is a long way of saying you won't find controls to adjust the positioning of the screen image on an LCD like you do on a CRT.
What your problem sounds like is a mis-aligned screen. Where the screen has been installed in the frame skewed. That;s what is sounds like. What about the bottom of the screen? Is it skewed at an angle too? Are the vertical and horizontal edges of on-screen windows parallel with the vertical and horizontal edges of the screen frame?
Sounds like a warranty fix job.

Thanx Zern , good point. In deed they are parralel, so they are a little like the top shoulder. I only recognised it on the top of the screen. What probably will happen in repair, will they change it or just fix it in another position?

Don't know what they will do. At a guess, they may simple reposition it correctly.
I have seen this misaligned installation on mobile phone screens too.
Good luck with getting it fixed.

Mine has this too. 2007-63U with Samsung 14" SXGA.
I also have another T60 with TMD 14" SXGA. It doesn't have the problem.
I only noticed when I read this post -- I expect that it would be insignificant to most people. But hey, if it bothers you, you could try get it fixed or do it yourself.
